Roxanna joined the UM-JMH Center for Patient Safety team in 2003.  Her contributions to the team stem from her degrees in psychology and marketing along with an extensive background in healthcare.  Roxanna manages the Center’s budget, supervises expenses, and initiates purchases and reimbursements for the team.  She manages the website and regularly updates its content.  She also coordinates the Annual Patient Safety Course consisting of 350 trainees and volunteers.  Roxanna assists in the research, development, and execution of grant opportunities.

During simulation training, Roxanna acts as a standardized patient during training sessions or participates as the voice of the mannequin.  She coordinates the monthly procedural training of residents, schedules volunteer instructors, and provides testing materials to the residents.  Roxanna also assists during debriefing exercises to offer her perspective from a patient’s point of view.
