Center for Informatics & Perioperative Management

The Center for Informatics and Perioperative Management is a multi-disciplinary multi-institutional center of excellence hosted by the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Miami. Its mission is to promote the academic study and use of perioperative informatics-focusing on improving health outcomes and reducing the cost of perioperative care. Inherent in the mission is the development of the scientific methods and tools for better clinical and management decision making.

Located within the Department of Anesthesiology (the largest training program in the country), the Center will focus on the application of clinical anesthesia data to clinical practice issues and the increasingly important concern of delivering high quality care at the lowest possible cost.

The Center consists of a diverse group of talented professionals (hardware and software experts, anesthesiologists, biomedical engineers and electronic educational specialists) who are dedicated to expanding the role of Anesthesia Information Management Systems.
